1 2023-07-12 2 Updates in pursuit of making WRPR.US a functioning site have 3 slowed down a bit in the past couple of weeks. Mainly be- 4 cause after my Void Installs boot partition corrupted, I de- 5 cided to install Alpine on my main machine. Distro hopping I 6 know... But I couldn't resist after my experience with 7 alpine on the WRPR.US Raspberry Pi. 8 9 Anyway where I like to compile most everything on my system 10 Void was convenient with a nice balance for custom kernels 11 and suckless software, while using Void's amazing XBPS for 12 binaries like Firefox. Now this brings us back to a deci- 13 sion, continue on Alpine and continue to learn abuild and 14 aports, go back to ole faithful Void OR make the jump to 15 Gentoo. 16 17 I've used Gentoo for only a few months at a time, about the 18 same length I've dabbled with OpenBSD. Every year I install 19 and use Gentoo but always find my way back to Void, but this 20 year I think it's time. Only thing that stands in my way is 21 configuring yet another system... I should've made my own 22 LARBS like script by now. 23 24
