1 2024‐12‐05 2 3 Gopher stuff 4 5 I've been messing around with Gopherproxy (The one from 6 gopher.mills.io); instead of Pygopherd so I can keep Geomyi- 7 dae as my main gopher server software and have easy http ac- 8 cess for easy sharing. Also will probably use the Gopher 9 edition of Stagit alongside of regular HTTP stagit for con- 10 tinuity. 11 12 Solar?? 13 14 A small solar powered Raspberry Pi hosting thing would 15 be pretty cool, in my opinion. Maybe make some sort of off 16 grid system for long range LoRa to internet thing. Like a 17 server that sends updates over the air in the middle of a 18 field, or some remote radio astronomy stuff, like an array 19 of some sort? More realistically this would be somewhere 20 with limited connection to send very limited text updates to 21 a remote location with broader connection capabilities to 22 post on the wider web. Like a super slow cabin logging sys- 23 tem that can post to my favorite plain text protocols! And 24 possibly receive text based updates, like news, weather and 25 the like. 26 27 Now thinking about some sort of field station/server/re- 28 lay/radio thing almost like some sort of intractable thing 29 straight out of Death Stranding or something like a Cyber- 30 punk data term. I'm envisioning something that looks like 31 Anduril's Pulsar system, but instead of radio based defense 32 it’s an easy deploy‐able, long range, nearly off‐grid commu- 33 nications system. With the current geomagnetic storms and 34 talk of a magnetic pole shift; a system that is somewhat 35 shielded from such events might actually prove useful some- 36 day too. 37 38 Journaling? 39 40 The Netcat text wall needs some sort of real purpose... 41 Currently guessing it will end up being a simple public 42 journal. Although resetting, simple paste service might be 43 interesting too. 44
