      5 Back Into The VOID!

      7 After  some debating and a few weird errors with Alpine, I've de-
      8 cided to go back to Void Linux. Although I love both, Void  feels
      9 more  like  home.  I've  used it longer and am more familiar with
     10 XBPS. Now my issues with Alpine; Apk has some weird update behav-
     11 iors,  like  new  confs. Basically a non issue, but Apk does have
     12 better, more up to date packages. Now on to stability, every  few
     13 months  I would encounter some weird networking issues on Alpine,
     14 something I've never experienced on Void in my  years  of  use...
     15 TLDR;  I  distro hopped, both Void and Alpine are about equal and
     16 interchangeable. Who knows maybe I'll  try  Gentoo  on  the  Pi's
     17 next.

     19 Minecraft? Minetest? Both???

     21 I've  been  running the Minecraft server for a while now, and The
     22 Minetest server has only been on and off for about a week while I
     23 experiment  with  it.  So far I like really like Minetest, except
     24 for just one thing... It feels super uncanny, like some  sort  of
     25 weird future infdev Minecraft. I've heard the some advice similar
     26 to that given to MS Windows to Linux converts "Treat it  as  it's
     27 own thing". And that's solid advice, still feels a little weird.

     29 As  for  the future of the Minecraft server, I feel like I should
     30 commit to one or the other. So here's where I stand  1.  I  don't
     31 like  Micros*ft 2. I don't like modern Minecraft, The only reason
     32 why the server is on 1.8.8 is because that's the  oldest  version
     33 supported  by  Paper. 3. Minecraft is what I know and have played
     34 for over 10 years. Now for Minetest  1.  I've  always  liked  the
     35 Project  but  never  really  got into it. 2. As I said before, it
     36 feels uncanny.  3. Love the simplicity and mods.

     38 Currently the plan is to run  both,  but  in  future  potentially
     39 choose  one  or  the other. Minetest will most likely win out be-
     40 cause of its free nature. But I might keep the  Minecraft  server
     41 up just because of the time I've played on the wrpr server.

     43 XMPP? IRC?

     45 Since  the migration I shut the XMPP server down, I like IRC more
     46 and there's no need for 2 chat servers. I  might  bring  it  back
     47 later, but for now it's just IRC.
